Experience

Our founder and director, Barry Goad, has over 16 years experience in the building industry. As a third generation builder, he commenced his plastering and carpentry apprenticeships at age 16 in New Zealand, before moving to London where he spent 7 years working as a site supervisor on high end, luxury renovations.

Since moving to Australia in 2011, Barry continued his work as site supervisor for multiple companies before starting Goad Building in 2016, with his wife, Bec.

Dealing with the team at Goad Building and Carpentry has been a pleasure from start to finish. Their planning, project management and attention to detail was exceptional. Everything ran so smoothly. Even when unforeseen situations arose (as with any renovation) Barry and Bec were always one step ahead with a perfect, economical solution. We were recommended to Barry and Bec through a friend and I must say hiring Barry and Bec to renovate our grand old Queenslander was the best decision we made. We were based in Melbourne and plan to relocate to Brisbane in 2019, it was therefore a long distant renovation. Bec and Barry were fantastic, they sent constant updates and photos of progress and when any unforeseen problems arouse we worked together to resolve them. Barry has an eye for detail and his workman ship was faultless, as were the team he used for painting, electrical etc. Bec was a champion and did a lot of running around for us, which was greatly appreciated. The icing on the cake was using the services of Claire Stevens to assist us in the interior design work.
